The concept of Air Conditioning is pretty basic. An Air Handler tied to a Condensing Unit cools the air and a duct system distributes it through the home. While the concept is simple, the application can be very complex. No two families have the same air conditioning needs. The ductwork must be designed for your home and how you live in it. The equipment must be sized and installed properly with all safety and control work done to exact specifications. You must decide how efficient the equipment should be. Does the added installation cost have a pay-back that benefits your investment? Do you have any rebates available in your area? Does the equipment qualify for the current Federal Tax Credits? And most importantly, will the system meet all of your cooling requirements?
Let our Home Comfort Consultants review your needs and design an Air Conditioning System that exceeds all of your expectations. At Royal Air Systems, Inc. we believe in creating a personalized system that meets your needs. Each home consultation is geared around the needs of the family. Replacement and Upgrades:
The average Central Air Conditioning System will function for approximately 10 years. After that, the reliability and efficiency truly make the system obsolete. For example, 10 years ago, the average system had a SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) of 9. Today, the Federal Mandate is that all new systems installed be a minimum of 13 SEER, and the average is a 14 SEER.
Most Air Conditioning Systems that are currently being replaced are filled with the R-22 Refrigerant. This is no longer the “norm”. Therefore, it is important when replacing a major component in an existing system to verify that the existing components are compatible with the new. The indoor and outdoor section both must operate on the same refrigerant. We recommend that a Home Comfort Consultant visit your home to survey the equipment you have, as well as discuss any comfort problems you may be experiencing. Our Consultants are available at your convenience. We have full financing programs available for those who qualify. At Royal Air Systems, Inc. we believe in using non-ozone depleting refrigerants. When the refrigerant 410A first became available we were one of the pioneers in its use in New England. Our technicians, both installation and service rushed to become certified in this ground-breaking technology. While the U.S. Government has mandated this refrigerant be used in all domestic air conditioning systems by 2010, we have primarily switched over since 2007.
Our Service and Installation technicians are all certified in reclaim/removal/and disposal of existing refrigerants using procedures set up by the appropriate Government Agencies. We believe it is our responsibility to help our customers find the most environmentally responsible methods to heat and cool their homes.
